BIOGRAPHY


Ehsaan Noorani, born on October 12, 1963, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a distinguished Indian composer and guitarist, renowned for his pivotal role in the acclaimed trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy. His musical journey commenced at a young age, studying under the guidance of Bismarck Rodrigues, a seasoned guitar teacher from Mumbai. 

In 1985, Ehsaan pursued formal music education at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of Western music. Upon returning to India, he collaborated with prominent composers such as Louis Banks, Ashok Patki, Ronnie Desai, and Gary Lawyer, contributing his guitar expertise to various projects. 

Ehsaan's association with Shankar Mahadevan and Loy Mendonsa led to the formation of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, a trio that has significantly influenced the Indian music industry. Their compositions have spanned over 50 soundtracks across multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and English. Notable works include "Dil Chahta Hai" (2001), "Kal Ho Naa Ho" (2003), "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" (2006), "My Name Is Khan" (2010), "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" (2011), and "Dil Dhadakne Do" (2015).
