BIOGRAPHY

Sahil Sarin is a musician, drummer, educator, and member of critically acclaimed Hindi Rock band - The Local Train. He started playing drums at the age of 5. He was exposed to diverse art forms at an early age and grew up around his father's collection of Vinyl Records of bands like Abba, The Beatles, Sandy Nelson, Boney M, and many more. The local bands soon recognized his talent and asked him to play, when he was only 12 years old. He has won a number of national competitions with these bands.

 Sahil Sarin has traveled across states to study with several alumni of Berklee College of Music, Boston, U.S.A. A serious student of music, he has attended master-classes with multi-Grammy winners like Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, Steve Smith, Gregg Bissonette, Wolfgang Haffner, Pierre Favre, and more. Sahil has played live and studio sessions for artists/bands like Half Step Down, Level9, Café Turtle, Combo#3, The Carrot Fish, Taal Inc, The Lost Elephant Theory, Farhan Saeed, and Subhash Ghai's Studio 'Audeus' in Mumbai.

 Sahil became a member of The Local Train during its nascent stage. He started touring extensively after the success of their albums ‘Aalas Ka Pedh’ & ‘Vaaqif' and music videos. He has shared the stage with artists like Katy Perry and Dua Lipa at D.Y Patil Stadium, Mumbai.

 He is also a recognized educator and makes time to teach students who travel from all over the country to study with him.
