The original Mastercraft Tama Rosewood Snare was released in the 1980s. Famous for its dark, heavy tone and aggressive attack, Tama claimed that the Rosewood was "the most powerful wood snare ever made." Tama emphasized that the rosewood was not just a cosmetic veneer. Rather, 12 plies of select rosewood were forged in Tama's heat compression molds into the Mastercraft Rosewood's powerfully built shell. Highly sought by drummers and collectors, original Mastercraft Tama Rosewood snares prove difficult to find on the used market, especially in good condition.
